Hay stores are a great addition to any stable block as they can provide you with a convenient place to store materials like food and hay for your day to day stable maintenance. Made from the same quality timber as our stables and field shelters, our hay stores are dry, secure units that you can build into your stable design for an additional cost.
As our hay stores are open structures, they are flexible and suitable for conversion into multi-purpose facilities. For example, our larger hay stores could be converted into a tack/storage room, as well as being used to store hay and tools. The larger the hay store you choose the more you can do with it. We can guide you with any adjustments you might like to make.
We also offer a choice of doors (sliding, barn etc) that you can incorporate into your hay store. This is something we will discuss with you during the purchase process.
Available Hay Stores
As standard we offer five different hay store sizes. Their dimensions and prices are listed below. If you would like something bespoke, you can contact us to see what we can do.
- 3.6m x 3.6m (12’ x 12’) – £645 + VAT
- 5.4m x 3.6m (18’ x 12’) – £1095 + VAT
- 7.2m x 3.6m (24’ x 12’) – £1295 + VAT
- 9.1m x 3.6m (30’ x 12’) – £1695 + VAT
- 10.9m x 3.6m (36’ x 12’) – £1995 + VAT
The size of your main stable unit may determine how big a hay store you need. As a general rule, Colt Stables advises you opt for larger hay stores the more stable units you have in your block. This gives you more space and will make your day to day activities more efficient as you can avoid the need for constant store replenishment.
How To Add A Hay Store
To add a hay store to your stable block, use our simple drag and drop feature on our stable design page. On the right hand side of the main grid, stroll down to your required hay store size and click on the green + icon in the top left corner. Your selected hay store will be added to the floor plan, where you rotate it to fit in your required design. If you place the hay store in a position that is not compatible with the stable block design, the feature will not let you place it there. If the position you choose is compatible, it will allow you to drop it there.
When you are happy with your finished stable block floor plan, scroll to below the grid and click on the Checkout button to pay a 50% deposit. Colt Stables will charge the remaining balance on completion of your build.
